As a former local mayor, a current state senator, and a mom, Heidi knows what it means to lead.  At the legislature, Heidi is a champion for immigrant and refugee communities, cosponsoring our Workforce Expansion Bill, which enables immigrants with work permits to access professional and commercial licenses, and spoke out against numerous bills attacking Tennesseans who are immigrants and refugees. 

When we interviewed state Senator Heidi Campbell for our endorsement process, she made it clear to us that she is running because she understands how high the stakes are.  Heidi refused to stand on the sidelines after our state legislators tried to disenfranchise the power of progressive voters by splitting Nashville into three new Congressional districts. 

From the economy to climate, immigration, and reproductive rights, it is past time for elected representatives who are willing to act boldly to defend our values.

TIRRC Votes is proud to endorse Heidi Campbell for Congressional District 5.

While the state legislature tried to dilute the power of Black and brown voters in Nashville through their racist gerrymandering, we’re excited for the opportunity to talk to Tennesseans across District 5 about Heidi’s bold and courageous leadership.  But we need your support.
